Our headquarters in Berlin is specialized in the social and economical integration of refugees from all backgrounds.
Be an Angel e.V. was founded in 2015 in response to the dangerous living conditions and lack of support for asylum seekers fleeing civil war and oppression. Our team witnessed refugees, many who had just suffered through an unimaginably long and difficult journey to escape war, sleeping in the winter cold in front of the State Office for Health and Social Services. This is where our mission began: by providing asylum seekers with a warm home and supporting them through the asylum procedure so that they can socially and economically integrate. We provide legal assistance, individual case management and housing assistance for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, regardless of their heritage and background. In addition to our direct assistance, our team engages in direct dialogue with the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and participates in various working groups of the Senate for Refugee Affairs. As a recognized representative of the Berlin Welcome Alliances network, we contribute to the Senate’s specialist committee on refugee issues, advocating for pragmatic solutions and integration strategies.
We firmly believe that economic and social integration is only possible if access to work and education is ensured, asylum procedures are completed and supported, physical and mental health is secured, and the living situation of families in their home countries is taken into account.

Working hours:
Our individual case management approach adheres to the principles of holistic support. We believe that true integration is achievable only when access to work and education is guaranteed, asylum procedures are efficiently managed, physical and mental health is secured, and the living conditions of families in their home countries are considered.
We engage in direct dialogue with the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and participate in various working groups of the Senate for Refugee Affairs. As a recognized representative of the Berlin Welcome Alliances network, we contribute to the Senate’s specialist committee on refugee issues, advocating for pragmatic solutions and integration strategies.
Since 2018, we have operated Kreuzberger Himmel, a restaurant run by individuals with refugee backgrounds. This project has been acknowledged at the EU level as a model for sustainable integration and serves as a training establishment for refugees.
We maintain close collaborations with the art world, showcasing refugee artists through initiatives like the “Voice for Ukraine” project, giving them a platform to share their stories and talents.
