The individual case consultation is carried out holistically according to the principles of the organization. Be an Angel is firmly convinced that economic and social integration is only possible when access to work and education is ensured, asylum procedures are completed and accompanied, physical and mental health is secured, and the living situation of families in their home countries is taken into account.
Recurring topics include the recognition of qualifications and professional degrees, the acceleration of asylum procedures, and the issuance of residence permits. In supporting clients through the asylum process, the Be an Angel team prepares appointments with the State Office for Immigration accordingly and brings all relevant documents to enable faster processing and the issuance of a residence permit. We hope to speed up the process and relieve the burden on the authorities.
In addition to working with refugees individually, our team participates in working groups of the Senate for Refugee Affairs. As an organization within the Welcome Alliance network in Berlin, Be an Angel is a regular representative in various committees. Among other things, Be an Angel was selected as a representative of the Welcome Alliances to participate in the Berlin Senate’s Refugee Committee.
In direct exchange with the authorities and institutions of the City of Berlin, Be an Angel pursues a pragmatic approach: the integration of people with refugee experience is our declared goal. Special attention is explicitly given to vulnerable groups such as unaccompanied minors, people with disabilities, single mothers, and LGBTQ+ individuals. In cooperation with the Welcome Alliance of various volunteer organizations in Berlin, Be an Angel is always committed to implementing pragmatic solutions together with the representatives of the authorities.
