A symphony of collaboration between artists, designers and ambassadors of culture with the work of Be an Angel e.v.
One of the cornerstones of our support is generated from the contemporary art world. Since 2015, Be an Angel has been continuously supported by renowned galleries, artists and cultural institutions. Klaus Biesenbach, Director of the New National Gallery in Berlin, approached us at the end of February 2022. Back in March 2022, the renowned museum for 20th century art organized a 48-hour donation marathon in aid of Be an Angel. In the history of the New National Gallery, Be an Angel is the first privately organized aid organization to be supported by this internationally renowned museum. Further fundraising campaigns were held in various renown Berlin galleries.
In September 2023, we organized an exhibition of Ukrainian art as part of Gallery Weekend Berlin. The aim was to raise funds through the sale of artworks to both support Ukrainian artists and fund much-needed aid for Ukrainians in war zones. Apart from that, the lively and dynamic art scene in Ukraine was to be brought to a wider audience, opening the doors to a world that wasn’t well-known in Berlin. The exhibition took place during Berlin Art Week and was shown in the BAW featured section with the support of the Senate.
At the same time, editions by artists were offered at the Paper Positions trade fair at Tempelhof Airport, the proceeds of which went to Be an Angel.
Together with our partner White Label Editions, we launched “Be an Angel Art Drops”, a concept that enables artists to offer an limited edition sale within either 24 or 48 hours. Nine artists, including Paul Schrader, Elisa Klinkenberg, Oksana Bernzovych, Olaf Hajek, Maximilian Magnus, Skare One, Eike König, Iryna Fedorenko and Aec Interesni Kazki, took part in the “Art Drops”.
