Morteza

Morteza Haschemi came to Germany with his family in 2016. A few months after his arrival, he took a temporary job as a glass collector in a beer garden. A few days later, the management of the beer garden was so impressed with the young man that they assigned him to the grill station. At that time, Morteza spoke hardly any German. A few months later, he began his training at the Sheraton Hotel. This, of course, included not only the practical part but also attending school, as Morteza still had not attended a German course. After three years of training to become a hotel specialist, by which time he was married and had good German language skills, he became self-employed.

From Berlin, he found wholesalers for Afghan products in Hamburg, brought them to the market in Berlin, and generated a turnover of over 11,000 euros in the first few months. Then, the coronavirus pandemic put an end to his burgeoning business, and he took a job as a restaurant manager at “Kreuzberger Himmel.” For the restaurant, he was an absolute asset! Morteza leads a team of eight employees and is responsible for handling catering services. Among the customers are the Archdiocesan Ordinariate with 450 guests and the Federal Chancellery, where Morteza Haschemi and “Kreuzberger Himmel” have now become a well-established presence.
