We are delighted to announce that Be an Angel e.V. has been honored with the ZukunftsWege Award 2025 by the Commerzbank Foundation. In the Social Engagement category, our organization received 2nd prize along with prize money of €10,000.
Since our founding in 2015, we have been supporting young people with refugee and migration backgrounds on their path to education and employment. Our approach includes individual counseling, concrete placement in companies and vocational schools, and long-term mentoring. Because successful integration requires reliable structures – and people willing to open doors.
A cornerstone of this work is our restaurant Kreuzberger Himmel. It not only creates training opportunities but also provides a space for learning, exchange, and community – where professional perspectives and social bonds grow together.
Marie Weiser, Case Officer at Be an Angel, explains:
“Young people with a refugee background also bring enormous potential to the German labor market. What they need are fair opportunities and reliable structures to build a future in this country. Receiving the ZukunftsWege Award confirms our work and gives us the momentum to open even more doors for young people.”
The ZukunftsWege Award, with a total prize fund of €90,000, is among the most highly endowed awards for vocational participation in Germany. It was presented for the second time in 2025. Alongside Be an Angel, five other organizations from across Germany were recognized – from training initiatives in skilled trades to inclusive employment projects.
